My purpose of writing this testimony is to share with you how you can reach out and receive a miracle from God at the point of your need.
In the year 1998 I fell ill. I was confronted with one illness after another. It was back and forth to various doctors but I only received temporary relief from my pain. Through all the suffering I went through, I can testify that God has taken me step by step, miracle after miracle.
In the year 1999, I became paralyzed from my neck down to my feet. My neck became weak and lifeless. I was like a newborn baby. I was given a neck collar for support and there was very little that doctors could do for me. I had to be on bed all the time, totally dependent upon my husband and those around me for everything. I could not sit up and had to be carried. My husband and mother had to do everything for me on the bed. Life was indeed very tough with a lot of questions going through my mind. During these traumatic moments in my life, I did not panic. I was not fearful because I knew a miracle working God and believed His eyes were upon me. My family and I learnt to trust God and knew there was a word from the Lord to meet this need. I would constantly tell the devil “I will not die but live and proclaim what the Lord has done” Ps 118:17.
Several months went by and my condition grew worse. My Bible became my most valuable possession. I literally spent hours and hours devouring its pages. The word of God comforted and strengthened me. When I became mentally and physically exhausted, the word of God refreshed me and kept me going.
One afternoon I was terribly sick. Everyone thought it could be my last day. After my husband had fed me with a little food, he removed the neck collar and he put me on the bed. Since he was exhausted taking care of me day and night he lay by my side facing the wall and went to sleep. My parents were asleep in the room upstairs.
In the quietness of that afternoon, while I lay there on the bed, I began to reflect on what the future had for me. I began to speak to the Lord and I said “Lord, I know you have brought me to this world to be a blessing to people and not to be a burden to others. You are my Creator and every cell in my body functions only at Your command. For in You I live and move and have my being”. Acts 17:28. I said Lord, I believe that even now you can do a miracle for me. I wrestled with God and told Him I will not let You until You do something for me now. Just then I heard the Lord say “Have you not read about the valley of dry bones and how I commanded my servant Ezekiel to prophesy to the bones in Ezekiel 37. I said yes Lord and He said to me, your bones are dead and dry and I want you to speak to your dead, dry bones.
I said Lord I do not know what to speak but He said I have given you my word, just speak to your condition. Just then I remembered the word in Proverbs 18:21 which says “The tongue has the power of life and death”. I said Lord I will obey Your word and do what You say. I strongly believed that moment that all I needed to do was to take the word God has spoken and with simple faith and loyalty to God, speak forth that word and the miracle will come to pass. I said to myself “the power for the fulfillment of my miracle is not in me but it is in God’s promise to me”. All I had to do now was to receive that revelation into my spirit, believe it, act upon it and stop struggling.
I began to confess the word. I confessed every scripture on healing that I knew aloud and slowly began to rise up from the bed. For several months I could not move on my own but now I started to slowly get up. I felt weak but did not give up. I rose up from the lying position and came to the sitting posture. My back was fully bent and neck shaking. I held my neck with my hand and said “in the name of Jesus I command my neck to stand firm and become strong”. I removed my hands and to my amazement, instantly my neck became firm. It was not shaking anymore. Faith began to rise within me. I now began to speak the word of healing to my back and confessing the word I slowly and steadily began to move backwards. The back which was bent over was slowly becoming straight. I did not give up until my back was straight and in upright position. If God could heal my neck and back, I knew He would heal my legs and make me walk. I confessed the word again and by faith stood up and very slowly began to take one step at a time until I was able to walk. I was weak and unsteady, but I said to God “You have promised me in Isaiah 41:10 that You will strengthen me and help me, You will uphold me with Your righteous right hand”. By holding on to this promise I moved from one room to the other. I was looking so sick, so I went to the bathroom had a good bath with the help of the Lord and came back. It was not easy, but I did not give up. I kept confessing the word, acted on the word by faith and received my miracle. I felt so refreshed, when my people at home woke up they were shocked to see me walking and so very normal. I praise God for having given my husband and parents deep sleep while He was working on me. There was no human intervention but only the divine in my miracle.
Sounds impossible doesn’t it. Well, it is impossible in the nature realm but with God all things are possible.
Dear friend, no matter what you are going through. Always remember God is in control. God will meet you at the point of your need. He will supernaturally intervene and deliver you out of your circumstance. All you need to do is to receive His promise in your spirit, realign your thinking and speak forth the word and the miracle will be yours.
